This place is the great! The food was the best. I seen this place on social media and drove 30 min to try, it was worth it, by far the best! I took a photo of all our empty plates , we cleaned house and I will be back , must try Mac and greens!

Yum!! This place is so delicious and the owner is so nice! He was very welcoming and talkative (which I enjoyed very much) the food was great and the service was fast. I recommend this place to everyone I know.

Took a chance on the drive home from the Bay Area based on your Yelp reviews and are very happy we did! Met the wonderful owner Tim who was so attentive and an absolute character! If you don't strike up a conversation with him, you have wasted your visit. Now to the food. Brisket was the star of this meal. I had the brisket meal with mac & cheese and collard greens. My boss had the Mac & Meat - he chose the brisket. Just order it. I can't describe how good EVERYTHING is! Want to go back and try all the stuff we didn't have time to try. If you're nearby, do yourself a favor and go enjoy that BBQ... and a large side of a conversation with Tim.

**Awesome Ribs** I can't speak about everything on the menu, but the ribs at The Southern Smokin BBQ are hands down the best I've had in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, they were closed this holiday weekend, so I mistakenly tried another place with seemingly better reviews for their ribs. However, those ribs turned out to be so chewy that I ended up throwing them out. If you're looking for fall-off-the-bone, awesome ribs with delicious BBQ sauce, this place is for you. Look no further - The Southern Smokin BBQ is the real deal for rib lovers.

This has been a bookmarked place to try! You wouldn't think that there's a bbq place in this plaza, but it's there. We came on a Saturday at 5pm and there were some items were already sold out (mac&cheese, collard greens, hot links). But, there was still a good selection to choose from. The people working were pleasant and welcoming. Order: -Corn bread: Must get!! This was the winner of the meal. There was a nice crust on the outside and complimented the rest of the meal. -Brisket: The brisket was tender. I wished it was seasoned more, but the bbq sauce helped a lot -Pulled pork: Good. Also is elevated with the BBQ sauce. When you put it with the buns, it's a great sandwich. -Cheese fry: It was fine. I did like the cheese on top, but I would prefer the tater tots (see below). -Seasoned tater tots: LOVED. They were well seasoned and the -CRUNCH- in the tots was amazing -Beans: They were okay. They were sweeter than my personal preference. -Potato salad: A very classic potato salad. -Half chicken: GREAT! This was the best of the proteins. When you cut into the chicken, it was JUICY. I would come back to try their additional sides and offerings!

This is a local business that recently became popular. Super nice staff and owner. A family-owned business with delicious meat selections. I recommend you plan to be there early or at least don't wait too much into the evening to order because they do sell out. The brisket fries and ribs were my favorite. The mac n cheese has some spice to it which makes it unique and flavorful. They do have options for BBQ sauce spice levels for those who prefer less spicy. I tried 2 of the levels and both, the none spicy and mild sauces were very tasty. There is limited seating indoors, but most people order to-go. They also have limited drink options. My only advice to the owner would be to make the cheese sauce for the cheese fries cheesier. The sauce has added ingredients for flavor but it just wasn't cheesy enough for me.

I can not even begin to express my love for this establishment's food, generosity, and care for their community and customers. I've always wanted to try Southern style BBQ and finally found this spot off Yelp. Everything here is delicious, my favorite being their ribs, cheese fries, lumpia, and potato salad. Full of flavor, everything perfectly smoked/cooked. But what really will make your experience beyond 5 stars are the family and team that work here. The kindest people I've ever come across. Humble, grateful, genuine, enthusiastic, etc. Very casual spot with limited seating but It's a place that'll make you feel at home no matter the setting. I'll be coming here again and again! Always leave with a big smile on my face :)
